A bunch of fake neo-hippies, started by Berlin’s electro offroader Jayrope, noise rocker Dave Bennett and hiphop colleague Splatterdandy with a mass project-type band summer 2003. Obviously it all went wrong, the useless collective idea died easily, but attracted a lot more disturbed creatures (see top of page) like Mark Bihler (Whitedaughter, UK), Tom Krimi (Stereo DeLuxe), wordless über-vocalist Samtbody, construction set drummer Arik Hayut (Tel Aviv) & a load of other fraggles.

A misleaded mix of acid beats, noise guitars, Russian synth outbursts, shreddered vocals: GU repeatedly attracted Berlin police at their live shows (when playing ballads). But despite those set-backs, the message is clear: Nothing can stop them from officially releasing their crap, though eagerly awaited debut album: never.
